BELDON RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
ABOUT US
The Beldon Residents Association is a residents association for the suburb of Beldon which is part of the local government of the City of Joondalup in Perth Western Australia.

Beldon Residents Association Inc. formally came into being on the 16th February 2017 when it was Licensed under Association Incorporations Act 2015. This is a not for profit, community engagement organisation under sport, recreation or social club activity.
The objects/purposes of the Association is to, “promote community involvement to improve residents awareness and commitment for our suburb”.
The association’s financial year is stated to be the 12 month period starting from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. The Prescribed Model Rules govern our association. Please see our Documents page for a copy.

OUR FORMATION
The people who formed the beginnings of this organisation are people like you. They were interested in the community but had no means to become involved as a group specifically for this purpose.
Members of the Beldon community came together in January 2017 to save the community reserve at Beldon Park from being developed into a professional soccer field. Many pitched in to save our park. People joined the Facegroup “Save Beldon Park” and collectively grew to around 700 members.

We were the recipients of many offers of help and so many people kindly volunteered their time, resources and effort all to one purpose – to provide a community voice in answer to the City of Joondalup proposal to upgrade Beldon Park. Their proposal did not proceed.
When there was a sufficient number of interested and committed people coming forward as a result of the invitation on a Save Beldon Park flyer, several meetings were held in private homes and Nicky Dangar filed an application for an association at the Department of Commerce.
At our first public meeting on 15th February 2017 at 18.00 – 20.30 held in Beldon chaired by Mr Mitch Sideris of Mullaloo: The Vice President of the Mullaloo Beach Community Group, several motions were proposed, seconded and passed unanimously which authorised the beginnings of our association. The President/ Chair and a committee were provisionally elected.

WHAT WE DO
We aim to make our community more aware of events and issues relevant to their suburb by the City of Joondalup and others.
We aim to give our members a voice, expressing an opinion as to what we think is important when decisions are made by councillors, the City, state & local government's and special interest groups that impact our suburb.
